The Snow Queen

A New Adaptation by Thomas Cardwell

Girda’s idyllic childhood is shattered, when the Snow Queen abducts her best friend, and no one does anything about it!

Taking matters into her own hands, Girda ventures far from the warmth and safety of all she’s ever known, to find Kai and bring him home.

Exhausted and alone, when she herself is captured, with Kai nowhere to be found, Girda must discover her own true strength and prevent them both from being trapped forever in the frozen north.

Both a minimally-staged piece, with a cast of three, and an extravagant spectacle, with large-scale puppets and projection mapping. Or, somewhere between those two extremes.

First Performed at the Lilly Theatre, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Winter 2022/23.
